We're excited to be screening the documentary Wilding at Lido on the Roof. Isabella and her husband Charlie bet on nature for the future of their failing, four-hundred-year-old estate. This visually stunning documentary captures the determination the two have to revive the 3500-acre English farm.
When the couple inherited the estate, they recognised how sick the land was. Ripping down the fences, they set the land back to the wild and entrust its recovery to a motley mix of animals both tame and wild. It is the beginning of a grand experiment that will become one of the most significant rewilding experiments in Europe.
Now it’s a place where mussel-diving pigs, storks and butterflies find sanctuary, and where thriving flora and a vast array of animals have taken back the land. This is a charming, hopeful and necessary story of ecological regeneration.
Adapted from the bestselling memoir of the same name by Isabella Tree.
Screening at Lido on the Roof, Sunday 8 December, 8:45pm. Tickets on sale now.
