The Story

Caleb Wilson is a Melbourne based pianist, composer and bandleader. A student of the esteemed Timothy Young (ANAM), he was the recipient of the 2022 Will Poskitt Piano Award and 2021 Agnes Robertson Piano Scholarship. Caleb is also a highly sought-after accompanist and educator and regularly appears alongside Melbourne’s finest artists at venues all across the city. For this gig, Caleb and the trio will be joined by up and coming saxophonist Tristan Meffre.

Originally from Tasmania, saxophonist Tristan Meffre recently moved to Melbourne to pursue music and study at the VCA under the tutelage of Angela Davis. Influenced by saxophonists such as Sonny Rollins, Lee Konitz, Jamie Oehlers and Melissa Aldana, Tristan is quickly becoming a distinctive voice among Melbourne’s young musicians.

Together they will be presenting a collection of their favourite standards and jazz classics for your enjoyment.
