“In his fifth film as a director, actor Antonio Albanese denounces bank crashes, his comic expression turning tragic in a small but well-calibrated film” – Cineuropa
Former shipyard worker Antonio leads a quiet and peaceful life. When his daughter Emilia announces her marriage, Antonio vows to give her a lavish wedding, but the bank he has trusted his life savings with seems to be hiding something. The task of paying for this dream wedding will prove an increasingly arduous challenge as Antonio discovers, to his dismay, that those who guard our treasures do not always also guard our dreams.
Acclaimed Italian comedian, actor and director Antonio Albanese has crafted a gripping and timely drama about the financial precipice people find themselves on when their trusted institutions betray them in economically tough times. A Hundred Sundays is a sobering and powerful document of our time, brimming with humanity and pathos.
