EFF: A Long Break

A seemingly innocuous gathering turns into a trial for a former classmate, who used to be a bully. 

Powerful performances from its ensemble cast underpin this tense drama about a group of former classmates who sneak into their old school to get drunk and reminisce. It soon becomes apparent that the reunion organiser harbours a strong grudge against one of his ex-classmates – the most successful of the bunch – and is seeking some type of confrontation. Rich in mood and ideas, this atmospheric and intriguing film considers how, as adults, we frame and contextualise our school experiences and whether we make the choice to move on, or not.
