A 3,000-year dream. A 36-hour mission. The untold story of Operation Solomon.
Exodus 91 tells the incredible story of Operation Solomon - Israel’s mission to rescue 15,000 Ethiopian Jews from famine and civil war. Director Micah Smith brings a historical moment to vivid life through a hybrid of documentary and dramatic narrative, blurring the lines between past and present and interrogating the ramifications of the rescue on immigrants today.
In a dramatization of events, the film travels with Israeli diplomat Asher Naim to Ethiopia. As he enters negotiations, his seemingly altruistic mission is thrown into doubt and scepticism. Naim’s faith in his mission is tested as he navigates the treacherous world of bureaucracy and politics, raising challenging questions of racism, white saviorism, homeland and cultural identity.
