A Polish cult classic - a strange, but compelling parable in the spirit of Eastern philosophy, promoting sacrifice and human goodness.
Edi and Jureczek make a living collecting scrap metal from the city streets and rubbish bins. They live together in an old factory slated for demolition, spending some of the little money they make at a rundown bar. The bar is also frequented by two Brothers who use brutal methods to exact any payments owed them. Edi has a passion for reading books he finds in the rubbish. One day the Brothers have an unusual offer for Edi, one he cannot refuse. They want him to help the Princess, their 17-year-old sister, with her schoolwork. They've been taking care of her since their parents' death, and they also protect her from men. Three months later the Brothers find out the Princess is pregnant. And so the story begins…
