Sarah Carso is a Jazz vocalist from Paris, specialising in the music of the Great American Songbook, French Jazz, and lesser-known Broadway songs of the Mid-Twentieth Century.
Ms. Carso graduated from the Paris Conservatory in both classical and jazz music degrees, while performing professionally - first as a double bass player in orchestra and chamber music, before releasing her first album “Patchwork” as a lead jazz singer with her Parisian quintet.
A couple years later, she moved to New York City & obtained her Masters of Music there, while also performing extensively in the city that never sleeps.
Sarah moved to Melbourne and onto our jazz scene a few years ago, and may now be heard regularly as a vocal feature throughout our famous venues and local jazz bands. Since arriving in Australia, Ms. Carso has performed with esteemed Jazz musicians including Peter Baylor, Adam Rudegeair, and Tom Flenady. Ms. Carso’s style combines the influences of the great Jazz masters of the Twentieth Century with her own personal quirk and flair, producing a conception of the Jazz idiom unique amongst Melbourne vocalists.
