The Dan Mougerman Afro Cuban Quartet
The Story
Daniel Mougerman joins forces with some of Australia’s finest musicians and leading experts in Afro-Cuban rhythms, presenting original music as well as the music of Chucho Valdes and Alain Perez.
With over a decade of study, including a one-month stint in Havana, Cuba where he studied with Alejandro Falcon, Daniel co-leads the 11-piece supergroup La Influencia and has performed with Alex Acuña (Weather Report) and Mayito Rivera (Los Van Van).
Daniel has performed internationally at festivals including The Great Escape (UK), Jam Cruise 2023 (USA) and Amua Festival (Spain), as well as touring Europe three times over in 2023 - once with The Bamboos and twice with Mia Wray.
Other performance highlights include being the pianist for the 2023 Carols by Candlelight, supporting Robbie Williams on his Australian tour with the Bamboos and performing with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and The Bamboos at Hamer Hall for two shows in 2021.
